Benefits of Care

Home care following a stroke provides several crucial benefits for patients recovering
from the event. Some of these benefits include:

Rehabilitation and Home Program:

Depending on the condition, patients may need physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy to regain strength, mobility, and functional abilities. Our caregivers can assist with working in. tandem with these professionals in facilitating the daily exercise program between therapy sessions.

Personal Care:

This includes help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.

Meal Preparation:

Ensuring your loved one receives proper nutrition and hydration, which includes meal preparation and set-up for your loved one.

Medication Reminding:

Our caregivers can assist with medication reminding of your loved one. We do require medication to be pre-packed and checked by family members.

Emotional Support:

Providing daily encouragement as well as companionship to promote physical and emotional wellbeing of your loved one.

I highly recommend the Kriel Care Specialist Team to anyone in need of home care. Their service offered in the short time we needed it, was excellent. Lisa, mom’s carer, was amazing! Her love for her profession shines through in everything she does. The love, kindness, gentleness, patience and compassion she showed towards my mom was remarkable. Her incredible sense of humour brought light heartedness and cheer in challenging situations and kept us all grounded. We are forever grateful. May this incredible team be blessed mightily.

All I want is my refund so be careful to pay in advance because they wil never pay the money back when you cancel the contract due to medical reasons

Kriel Care took care of our mom during the last months of her life. The carers and manager were incredibly gentle and loving with her — there was always an abundance of hugs, smiles, and kindness. They were attentive and resourceful, willing to help find the best solutions, and always willing to adapt to keep Mom comfortable and supported as her needs changed.
The food was always freshly cooked and wholesome, and the facility was kept clean, tidy, and hygienic at all times.
We are deeply grateful for the care, compassion, and warmth shown to Mom by the whole Kriel Care team. I can wholeheartedly recommend Kriel Care to anyone looking for a nurturing and supportive environment for their loved one.

My family and I have been using Kriel Care’s home-based services for my mother, who is living with dementia, and we could not be more pleased with the level of care she has received. The team has been a true blessing, and we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in my mom’s well-being since they started.
The caregivers from Kriel Care are not only professional and highly trained but also incredibly compassionate. They provide a tailored approach that goes beyond just assisting with daily tasks like bathing and dressing. They understand the unique challenges of dementia and have created a safe, predictable, and engaging environment for my mother. This has made a significant difference in reducing her anxiety and confusion.
What truly sets Kriel Care apart is their focus on the human connection. The caregivers have built a genuine, trusting relationship with my mom, providing companionship and emotional support that is so vital for someone with her condition. It’s clear that they genuinely care, and this has given our family immense peace of mind.
The communication with Kriel Care’s management has also been excellent. They work closely with us to ensure the care plan is meeting my mom’s evolving needs, and we always feel like we are part of the process. For any family seeking dignified, personalized, and compassionate home care for a loved one with dementia, I highly recommend Kriel Care. They have been a source of comfort and support, and we are so grateful for the positive impact they have had on my mother’s life.

My dad has been a resident at Krielcare since December 2024, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the care he receives. The staff go out of their way to make sure he is not only looked after but also engaged and uplifted every day.

From regular exercise sessions, to fun games, to thoughtful family days — they do an incredible job keeping the residents active and happy. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dad is in a place where people genuinely care, and where he feels part of a warm, supportive community.

Thank you to everyone at Krielcare for the kindness and dedication you show — it makes all the difference!
FAQ

General Question

Normal aging may involve occasional forgetfulness, but Alzheimer’s involves more severe and progressive memory loss, confusion, and difficulty completing daily tasks. A medical evaluation by a healthcare professional can provide a diagnosis. Contact us for resources in this regard.

Currently, there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms, improving quality of life, and slowing the progression of the disease.

Home care allows your loved one to remain in a familiar environment, which can reduce confusion and anxiety. It also provides personalized care, promotes independence, and often costs less than institutional care.

Home care services can include assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication management, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, and specialized Alzheimer’s care such as memory exercises and behavioural management.

Spend quality time with your loved one, engage in activities they enjoy, listen to their concerns, and provide reassurance and emotional support. Stay involved in their care plan and communicate openly with their caregivers.
